Good Reader

I think Nabokov considers a good reader as someone who has the ability to see past the obvious and really put some imagination and thought into what the context is telling him or her. Also the reader should have a strong memory so that they could remember what they have read and what’s happening in the story. Nabokov states that a reader should have a dictionary and some artistic sense.  Yes I agree with Nabokov to some degree but I think the author needs to be a good writer so that the reader doesn't get bored or even confused. I think a reader needs too stick to books that are readable to them rather than trying to take on a mind-boggling book that may discourage the reader. The reader should also take there time when reading and if necessary re-read sections that are not exactly clear. Yes I consider myself a good reader but it is definitely something that I don't do enough unless it is a newspaper or something I can read on the go.
